Team RMR / Red Bull / Pontiac took 2nd place at the Formula Drift Series Finale held in Irwindale this last weekend. With the largest drift crowd ever assembled at Irwindale Speedway, Rhys was pushing his Pontiac GTO to the limit to stay ahead of what most consider to be most competitive Great 8 in the history of Formula Drift. The mighty GTO battled against Team Falken's Hiro Sumida and Vaughn Gitten (JR), AEM's Tanner Foust and finally Pacific Rim's Daijiro Yoshihara (Dai). Rhys was finally beat out by Dai in an amazing high speed drift battle that is sure to be remembered as one of the years best. The 2nd place finish was enough to secure a 1st place in the Tires.com Triple Crown Championship and a 2nd place in the Formula Drift Championship.

Drifter and Stunt driver Rhys Millen is the last competitor named by the committee to compete in the high-profile X Games Rally. Capping an exciting season of tire-smoking, sideways and spectacular Drifting, Millen and his GTO charged consistently through all six Formula D events during the 2005 season, maintaining his point leadership throughout the entire year. Houston (June 14, 2005) – With the 2005 Formula D Drift Season halfway completed, Team RMR Pontiac and driver Rhys Millen continue their leadership position in Championship points in the American drifting series. Winning a podium finish at all three events to date, Millen and his Pontiac GTO drift machine enter the second half of the season with 279 points, edging out the closest rival by a lead of 53 points. Formula D Houston proved to be yet another success for Team RMR Pontiac with a third place finish during the highly attended event at Texas’ Reliant Arena.(more)

Wall, New Jersey - Pontiac factory drift driver Rhys Millen in his heavily-modified GTO swept the Formula D Drift Championship's Season Opener at Wall Township Speedway in New Jersey this past Saturday, finishing first out of 50 drivers who competed. Sporting an all-new paint and graphics theme and a host of technical enhancements for the new year, the GTO drifted flawlessly to the approval of both fans and judges alike. This was Formula D's first event of the highly anticipated 2005 season and the first ever held in the North East region of the United States. (more)
